1. BRING IN THE LATEST VERSION OF ALL OF YOUR ESSAYS

• Work on them every day, revising and editing (see the handout on myLearning)

• Also, always bring in the graded versions, but please know that if your latest version is also still the one that has been graded that you have not done yourself any favors in trying to pass the class. From 12 years of experience, the students who haven't changed anything at all (aka: haven't looked at their writing and tried to improve it) most often are the ones who do not pass the portfolio.   

2. Read Chapter 17 in Real Writing. Review Chapters 15 and 16.

• We will go over some stuff on commas, but what are individual grammar-based questions that you worry about? Which grammatical issues are you most confused on that we can try to demystify in class--or in individual discussions?
